Kotagede

Kotagede is the capital city of Islamic Mataram kingdom that had been stood in 16th century. In this teritorry there was a harmonic combination that naturally happened between Dutch colonial cultures, traditional Javanese cultures, and Islamic cultures. Mataram kingdom heritage sites which are still can be found in Jagalan such as cemetary cluster of Mataram royal kingdom family and Great Mosque of Mataram.

Kotagede is also declared as cultural tourism because of its history, culture, and values of as the interest. Moreover, Kotagede also known as famous silvercraft center in Yogyakarta, especially in Kampung Jagalan. This kampung has many unique things to explore such as culinary, the neighbourhood which include building models of old houses and narrow alleys between the houses tha becomes the original characteristics Kotagede.
